Roofing
What the platform does for a roofing contractor: it runs the tear-off and the insurance-claim job, with the inspection points and the product approvals on the record.
What it does for you
- Runs a tear-off and replacement through permit, deck inspection and re-nail, secondary water barrier, dry-in, and close-out.
- Handles an insurance-claim job with damage documentation, a good-faith itemised estimate, and the cancellation window.
- Keeps the paperwork an inspector actually checks: Florida Product Approval, Miami-Dade NOA, design pressures.
- Runs leak-chase and emergency tarp work on the service side, magnet sweep and all.
What she already knows
She can cite your code, and she knows where to stop.
Annabelle carries verified Roofing code facts and the source for each one, so she speaks credibly to a customer instead of guessing. She is also told, in the same breath, what she may never do with them.
Governing code: Florida Building Code 8th Ed. (2023) + ASCE 7-22; Florida Product Approval / Miami-Dade NOA.
- The Treasure Coast is a Wind-Borne Debris Region: replacement windows and exterior doors must be impact-rated or have approved shutter protection, and every roofing/opening product needs a Florida Product Approval (FL#) or Miami-Dade NOA sized to the home's design pressures.
- A secondary water barrier / sealed roof deck is required on reroofs (FBC).
- The 25% rule has a large exception: under Fla. Stat. 553.844(5), if the existing roofing system or roof section was built, repaired or replaced in compliance with the 2007 Florida Building Code or later, then even when 25% or more is repaired, replaced or recovered, ONLY the worked-on portion must meet the current Code. A local government may not adopt an ordinance amending that exception. Whether a given roof qualifies turns on its build/repair history, which the building department and the contractor establish -- never assume it either way.
Source: FBC Building/Residential 8th Ed.; ASCE 7-22; FL Product Approval; Fla. Stat. 553.844(5) as amended by s. 1, ch. 2022-269 (leg.state.fl.us, verified 26 Aug 2026).
And the line she will not cross. She states the governing code and the standard. She will not give you a permit filing deadline or a county-specific requirement as settled fact, because those vary by jurisdiction and a wrong one costs a contractor real money. Her answer is that the building department and the licensed contractor confirm the specifics, which is both the truthful answer and the one that sounds like someone who has done this before.
Your Command Center, in your words
Roofing has its own configuration.
Stinger is one system, not a different product per trade. What changes is the configuration it runs on: the words on the screen, the columns on the board, the stages a job moves through, and the rules that decide what comes first. This is the Roofing configuration, as it ships.
The words on the screen
- A piece of work is called
- Job
- An incoming call is called
- Inspection request
- The board is called
- Job board
Job types: Inspection, Repair, Reroof, Storm claim.
The columns on your board
- Inspection
- Quoted
- Insurance review
- Scheduled
- Completed
An incoming caller is a homeowner.
The stages a job moves through
- Captured
- Inspected
- Quoted
- Insurance review
- Approved
- Completed
- Paid
The rules that decide what comes first
- Insurance paperwork filed before work begins on a claim
- Permit pulled for every reroof
- Material delivery scheduled after permit approval
The price list it starts with
- Inspection
- Free
- Repair
- Estimate
- Reroof
- Estimate
- Storm claim assist
- Included
These are example figures, not our prices. They are what the configuration ships with so the screens are not empty on day one. You set your own.
Questions she is set up to answer
- Do you help with insurance claims?
- Is the inspection free?
- How long does a reroof take?
Vocabulary is inspection, claim, and permit; insurance paperwork is filed before work begins.
How you get it: tell us your trade and we set the configuration up with you during onboarding. See every trade's setup questions side by side.
How it differs
Config-backed. All three license classes are graded standard with citations, and the config keeps the Chapter 713 contract-notice duties that ride along with a roofing contract.
Florida licensing classes

Job types
Full tear-off and replacement, asphalt shingle buildpermit
The most common residential job. Tear-off, deck inspection and re-nail, secondary water barrier, underlayment, drip edge, valley metal, starter, field, ridge and hip, vents.
Tile (concrete or clay) buildpermit
Heavier, slower, more expensive. Tile relay versus new tile is a distinct scope, and battens, foam set and mortar set are separate systems with separate approvals.
Metal (5V crimp, standing seam) buildpermit
Growing in Florida residential. Standing seam is a premium architectural product with panel-specific approvals.
Low-slope / flat (TPO, modified bitumen, built-up) buildpermit
Commercial work, and Florida additions and lanais. Edge metal and termination detail are where these fail.
Repair service
Leak chase, slipped or broken tile, flashing, pipe boots. The most common call and the least profitable.
Roof-over / recover buildpermit
Governed by the existing-roofing provisions and restricted by the number of existing layers and by deck condition.
Wind-mitigation retrofit build
Deck re-nail, roof-to-wall connectors, secondary water barrier - done at reroof under the Fla. Stat. 553.844 framework, and directly tied to the homeowner's insurance premium.
Emergency tarp / dry-in service
Post-storm stabilisation. A temporary repair in compliance with the Florida Building Code can constitute the contract's 'official start date' and close the storm-period cancellation window.
Permits
Permit triggers from the pack. The pack does not name the local permit or its filing window on purpose, so this page does not either. The building department confirms those.

The screens
The screens above are the shared dashboard the app renders for every trade. The service, build, and command screens are the same across trades. What changes for this trade is the licensing, compliance, stage sequence, and vocabulary on this page, not the screen layout.
