Plumbing
What the platform does for a plumbing contractor: it runs the emergency call and the permitted repipe, with the camera locate and the pressure test on the record.
What it does for you
- Takes an emergency call through the after-hours quote, stop-the-damage, written estimate, and repair.
- Runs a drain service call with a camera locate before anyone cables or jets the line.
- Runs a repipe through scope and permit, rough-in, pressure test, inspection, and trim-out.
- Handles a water-heater replacement with the TPR, expansion tank, pan, and warranty registration.
What she already knows
She can cite your code, and she knows where to stop.
Annabelle carries verified Plumbing code facts and the source for each one, so she speaks credibly to a customer instead of guessing. She is also told, in the same breath, what she may never do with them.
Governing code: Florida Building Code 8th Ed. (2023), Plumbing; Fla. Stat. Ch. 489.
- Water heater replacements require a TPR (temperature/pressure relief) valve with a proper discharge line, an expansion tank on a closed system, and a pan with a drain.
- Backflow prevention is required on cross-connections (irrigation, commercial, and residential) to protect the potable supply.
Source: FBC Plumbing 8th Ed.; local utility backflow rules.
And the line she will not cross. She states the governing code and the standard. She will not give you a permit filing deadline or a county-specific requirement as settled fact, because those vary by jurisdiction and a wrong one costs a contractor real money. Her answer is that the building department and the licensed contractor confirm the specifics, which is both the truthful answer and the one that sounds like someone who has done this before.
Your Command Center, in your words
Plumbing has its own configuration.
Stinger is one system, not a different product per trade. What changes is the configuration it runs on: the words on the screen, the columns on the board, the stages a job moves through, and the rules that decide what comes first. This is the HVAC & plumbing configuration, as it ships.
The words on the screen
- A piece of work is called
- Service call
- An incoming call is called
- Dispatch request
- The board is called
- Dispatch board
Job types: Repair, Maintenance, Replacement, Estimate.
The columns on your board
- Triage
- Dispatch
- Parts
- Ready
- Booked
An incoming caller is a homeowner - dispatch line.
The stages a job moves through
- Captured
- Qualified
- Quoted
- Approved
- Scheduled
- Signed
- Paid
The rules that decide what comes first
- Emergency triage outranks booking
- After-hours calls use seasonal surge rules
- Replacement quotes require owner approval
The price list it starts with
- Diagnostic
- $249
- Maintenance plan
- $1,260
- Replacement
- Estimate
- Emergency
- Priority rate
These are example figures, not our prices. They are what the configuration ships with so the screens are not empty on day one. You set your own.
Questions she is set up to answer
- What does a diagnostic include?
- When is replacement better than repair?
- How does emergency dispatch work?
Plumbing runs on the same configuration as HVAC, because the work has the same shape: a call comes in, it is triaged, dispatched, parted and closed. The trade knowledge above and below this section is Plumbing's own.
How you get it: tell us your trade and we set the configuration up with you during onboarding. See every trade's setup questions side by side.
How it differs
Config-backed, and one of the deep verticals with a brand kit, KPIs, and a pipeline behind it. All license classes shown are graded standard with citations.

Job types
Drain and sewer service
Clogs, snaking and cabling, hydro-jetting, camera inspection, locating, root intrusion.
Sewer line repair and replacement build
Sewer line repair and replacement, trenchless lining and pipe bursting, cleanout installation. What it takes depends entirely on depth, length, and what is on top of it.
Water heaters build
Tank replacement, tankless installation and conversion, heat-pump (hybrid) water heaters, TPR valve and expansion tank work, anode rod service, recirculation pumps. This is the volume replacement job.
Repipe build
Whole-house replacement of failing supply piping - the big-ticket residential plumbing job. In Florida the drivers are older galvanized, aging copper with pinhole leaks, and polybutylene.
Leak detection and slab leaks service
Florida is a slab-on-grade state; the under-slab supply leak is a defining Florida plumbing job and a genuinely specialised skill. Locating is the variable, not repairing.
Fixtures and remodel build
Toilets, faucets, sinks, showers, tub-to-shower conversions, disposals, kitchen and bath rough-in and trim-out.
Gas build
Fuel gas piping, appliance connections, pool heaters, generators, outdoor kitchens, leak testing. Fuel gas piping is inside the statutory plumbing scope.
Backflow service
Assembly installation, testing, repair, and utility reporting. A recurring-revenue line with a fixed schedule attached - the closest thing plumbing has to an HVAC maintenance plan.
Water treatment build
Filtration and softening, sold as planned work to a researched, comparison-shopping customer. The highest-risk marketing category in this trade, because the claims are health claims.
Well and septic service
Outside city service areas: well pumps, pressure tanks, septic tanks and drainfields. Septic in Florida runs through the Department of Health and its own permitting regime, which this research did not cover - no septic permitting or setback content may be generated from this config.
Commercial build
Grease interceptors, backflow programmes, water heater plants, restroom fixture counts, tenant improvements, medical gas. The buyer is a facilities or property manager, a restaurant owner, or a property-management company, and the fear is shutdown and code violation rather than property damage.
Emergency water damage service
Burst supply line, failed water heater, sewer backup. A different job in kind, because the plumbing repair is only the first part and mitigation is the rest. The homeowner's fear here is property damage, not personal safety.
Permits
Permit triggers from the pack. The pack does not name the local permit or its filing window on purpose, so this page does not either. The building department confirms those.
-
Any work for which a building permit is required
-
Planned work - remodel, repipe, tankless conversion, water treatment, sewer replacement
-
DWV and water-supply rough-in that will be concealed behind drywall
Compliance rules
Obligations that fire on a job, from this trade's pack. Items marked as an open question were not fully settled by the research and should be confirmed, not asserted.
-
Cross-connection control under Fla. Admin. Code R. 62-555.360 state
Open question Many individual utilities impose stricter programme requirements than the state minimum, so a specific property's testing schedule, fees, reporting and tester requirements are not settled by the state rule. Never tell a customer their backflow test is due annually without knowing whether the connection is residential or non-residential. Defer to the water utility's cross-connection control programme.
Fla. Admin. Code R. 62-555.360, administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection

Lead-free requirement under SDWA section 1417 federal
Safe Drinking Water Act section 1417, 42 U.S.C. section 300g-6(a)(1)(A), (a)(3), (d)(1)(B), (d)(2)
-
Medical gas personnel training state
Open question The compilation the research read was an older one; the course-length figure it states is withheld and must be re-checked against the current statutes compilation before it goes into a contract or a training claim. Defer to the current Florida Statutes compilation and the board-approved course provider.
Fla. Stat. 489.1136

Open question The specific test sections were not verified against the code text this pass. Defer to the plans examiner.

Open question The chapter map in this research is a structural orientation, not a citation; the specific section was not verified. Defer to the plans examiner.

The screens
The screens above are the shared dashboard the app renders for every trade. The service, build, and command screens are the same across trades. What changes for this trade is the licensing, compliance, stage sequence, and vocabulary on this page, not the screen layout.
Where it stands today
Config-backed and deep. Plumbing has its own config and a deep vertical deck, and it runs on the shared service and build screens.
