Landscaping

What the platform does for a landscaping company: it runs the maintenance route and the install project, and marks where the work crosses into a licensed application.

Landscaping has its own configuration.

Stinger is one system, not a different product per trade. What changes is the configuration it runs on: the words on the screen, the columns on the board, the stages a job moves through, and the rules that decide what comes first. This is the Landscaping configuration, as it ships.

The words on the screen

A piece of work is called
Job
An incoming call is called
Service request
The board is called
Route board

Job types: Maintenance, Design, Install, Irrigation.

The columns on your board

  • Site visit
  • Proposed
  • Scheduled
  • In progress
  • Complete

An incoming caller is a homeowner.

The stages a job moves through

  1. Captured
  2. Site visit
  3. Quoted
  4. Approved
  5. Scheduled
  6. Completed
  7. Paid

The rules that decide what comes first

  • Recurring routes are locked the week before
  • Chemical applications require a licensed applicator
  • Irrigation work is quoted after a site visit

The price list it starts with

Weekly mow
$65
Design consult
$150
Irrigation zone
Estimate
Seasonal cleanup
Estimate

These are example figures, not our prices. They are what the configuration ships with so the screens are not empty on day one. You set your own.

Questions she is set up to answer

  • How do I sign up for weekly service?
  • Are your applicators licensed?
  • Do you handle irrigation repairs?

Vocabulary is route, design, and irrigation zone; chemical work runs only through a licensed applicator.

How you get it: tell us your trade and we set the configuration up with you during onboarding. See every trade's setup questions side by side.

Config-backed. General landscaping needs no state contractor license, and the config grades that entry research-level, so it is described as the trade rather than cited as a license class. The Ch. 482 certifications are graded standard with citations.

Florida licensing classes

Limited certification, commercial landscape maintenance

Herbicides in beds and on hardscape, and IPM on ornamentals with products bearing no WARNING or DANGER signal word, handheld gear only.

Fla. Stat. 482.156

Limited certification, urban landscape fertilizer

Commercial fertilizer application to urban landscapes after the DEP and IFAS best-management-practices training.

Fla. Stat. 482.1562; 403.9338

Ch. 482 license with a certified operator in lawn and ornamental

Everything above that line: turf applications, restricted-use products, WARNING or DANGER labels, tank and boom gear, supervising others.

Fla. Stat. 482.071(1); 482.152

The dashboard layout is shared across every trade. The build stages, job types, permits, and compliance rules below are generated from this trade's own config pack, so they are specific to Landscaping.

Job types

Recurring mow / blow / edge service

The route stop on a quarter-acre residential property: mow, blow, edge. Weekly in the wet season, bi-weekly in the dry.

Full maintenance visit service

Mow plus beds plus trim plus blow, on a weekly or bi-weekly cadence. The retention question is consistency and the same crew.

Mulch refresh service

Front-yard mulch refresh, on a seasonal cadence rather than a project one. Clusters with the spring make-it-look-new spend.

Fertilization round (certified) service

A programme of rounds through the year under the urban landscape commercial fertilizer certification. The round nobody can schedule blind: the county ordinance governs when it may run.

Lawn pest / weed application (certified) service

A programme of turf and ornamental pesticide applications. Requires the pest control business licence and a certified operator in lawn and ornamental, not a limited certification.

Irrigation repair service

Reactive work on heads, a valve, or a break. The broken line spraying the street is a same-day call.

Irrigation audit / controller reprogram service

Seasonal walk of the zones and a controller reprogram to the local schedule. In the dry season irrigation becomes the whole business.

Storm cleanup / debris haul service

Event-driven and highly variable. Unpredictable, high-volume, cash-intensive work through hurricane season.

Bed redesign / plant install build

A project: design, plant selection for the zone, salt exposure and drainage, and installation. Best before-and-after content in the trade.

Sod replacement build

Full front yard sod replacement as a project. Establishment needs water, so a dry-season install carries an irrigation commitment stated in writing.

Palm install (crane-set specimen) build

Crane-set specimen palm installation, priced and scheduled per specimen.

Tree trimming and removal build

Canopy work on a mature tree, and removal. Removal on single-family detached residential property turns on signed arborist documentation; everything outside that carve-out turns on the local ordinance.

Irrigation system install build

Residential system install as a multi-stage project, ending at the backflow assembly and a controller programmed to the local schedule.

Paver patio / walkway build

Paver patio, walkway and decorative stone work. No state licence, local licensing preempted, permits may still apply.

Landscape lighting install build

Landscape lighting installation as a project. The electrical scope may need a licensed electrician - check voltage and connection point.

Permits

Permit triggers from the pack. The pack does not name the local permit or its filing window on purpose, so this page does not either. The building department confirms those.

  • Pruning, trimming or removal of a tree on single-family detached residential property where the owner holds signed documentation that the tree poses an unacceptable risk

No permit · Fla. Stat. 163.045(2)-(3)

  • Tree work that is not single-family detached residential, or that touches a heritage or specimen tree, a protected species, or a mangrove

Permit likely, confirm locally · Fla. Stat. 163.045(1)(b), (4)

  • Disturbing a gopher tortoise burrow, or land-clearing and construction activity where a burrow is present

Permit required · FWC gopher tortoise relocation permit · Fla. Admin. Code Ch. 68A-27, via the FWC gopher tortoise rules and permits pages

  • Hardscape, pavers and decorative stone work

Permit likely, confirm locally · Fla. Stat. 489.117(4)(a)

Compliance rules

Obligations that fire on a job, from this trade's pack. Items marked as an open question were not fully settled by the research and should be confirmed, not asserted.

  • Any pesticide on turf needs the Ch. 482 licence state

Fla. Stat. 482.071(1); Fla. Stat. 482.111(2)(a); Fla. Stat. 482.156

  • Weed-and-feed is not covered by the fertilizer certification state

  • GI-BMP training before the fertilizer certification state

Fla. Stat. 403.9338; Fla. Stat. 482.1562

  • The county or city fertilizer ordinance governs the job site local

Open question No county or municipal fertilizer ordinance was verified in this pass. The dates, the covered nutrients, the exemptions, the buffer distances from water bodies, the deflector-shield requirements and whether a certification card must be carried all vary by jurisdiction, and the widely-cited summer blackout window is withheld rather than stated. Defer to the county or municipality where the job site is.

    Fla. Stat. 403.9337

  • Year-round landscape irrigation conservation measures statefrom research, not fully settled

Open question Which days are assigned to odd and even addresses was reported inconsistently between the two-day and three-day county sets and is withheld. The Southwest Florida Water Management District rule for the Tampa Bay market and the St. Johns River Water Management District rule were not researched at all, and a Tampa account is not governed by 40E-24. Local governments and utilities may be stricter, and many are. Defer to the water management district for that county, as tightened by the city, county or utility.

Fla. Admin. Code R. 40E-24.201; SFWMD landscape irrigation page (26 Aug 2026)

  • Cross-connection control on an irrigation connection statefrom research, not fully settled

Open question Which device type is acceptable, who may install it, who must test it and how often is set by the water utility and the local jurisdiction and it varies. No device type, tester qualification or test interval may be stated as a settled Florida requirement. Defer to the water utility and the local jurisdiction.

    Fla. Admin. Code R. 62-555.360

  • Documentation standard for permit-free residential tree removal state

    Fla. Stat. 163.045(1)-(3)

  • Tree permitting outside the statutory carve-out local

Open question No local tree ordinance was researched for any jurisdiction. Defer to the local government.

    Fla. Stat. 163.045

  • Mangroves are carved out and sit under their own act state

Open question The professional qualifications required for mangrove trimming under that act were not researched beyond the carve-out itself. Defer to FDEP or the delegated local government.

Fla. Stat. 163.045(4); Mangrove Trimming and Preservation Act, ss. 403.9321-403.9333

  • Gopher tortoise relocation permit before disturbing a burrow statefrom research, not fully settled

Open question The reported burrow-avoidance buffer that would remove the permit requirement, and the mitigation-contribution specifics, come from FWC guidance summaries rather than the rule text, which was not read directly. Both are withheld; verify with FWC before relying on either to clear a site. Defer to FWC.

Fla. Admin. Code Ch. 68A-27, via the FWC gopher tortoise rules and permits pages

  • Clippings out of the street and the storm drain localtrade convention

Open question Which ordinance applies and precisely what it prohibits is jurisdiction-specific; no county or municipal ordinance was verified in this pass. Defer to the county or municipality where the job site is.

  • Preempted licensing does not mean no permit localfrom research, not fully settled

Open question No local permit requirement was researched for hardscape, lighting or irrigation work in any Florida jurisdiction. Defer to the local building department and the city or county.

    Fla. Stat. 489.117(4)(a)

  • Landscape lighting can cross into licensed electrical work statetrade convention

Open question Where exactly that line sits was not researched. Defer to a licensed electrician and the local building department.

  • Pesticide labeling rules govern lawn care marketing federal

    40 CFR 156.10(a)(5)(ix), (v), (x)

  • Reasonable basis before dissemination federal

  • Advertised warranties and plant guarantees federal

Open question Only the section titles of the warranty guides were verified; the operative disclosure text was not fetched, so it may be cited as governing but not paraphrased as if quoted. Defer to 16 CFR Part 239 itself, and counsel.

    16 CFR Part 239 (239.2, 239.3, 239.4, 239.5)

  • An HOA may not prohibit Florida-friendly landscaping state

Open question Whether a particular HOA covenant is enforceable is a legal opinion on a specific instrument. Defer to the customer's lawyer.
