Event Services
What the platform does for an event company: it runs a production from discovery to strike, with the licenses, permits, and run of show on one job.
What it does for you
- Runs an event through its real sequence: discovery, venue, contract, vendors, design, permits, run of show, rehearsal, day-of, strike.
- Keeps the documents the trade lives on: the BEO, the COI, the floor plan, the final headcount and guarantee.
- Flags the alcohol and food licensing path early, because that is where an event gets shut down.
- Tracks the commercial terms: retainer, hold, peak date, service charge versus gratuity.
Your Command Center, in your words
Event Services has its own configuration.
Stinger is one system, not a different product per trade. What changes is the configuration it runs on: the words on the screen, the columns on the board, the stages a job moves through, and the rules that decide what comes first. This is the Events configuration, as it ships.
The words on the screen
- A piece of work is called
- Booking
- An incoming call is called
- Inquiry call
- The board is called
- Booking board
Job types: Consultation, Setup, Day-of, Breakdown.
The columns on your board

- Proposal
- Deposit
- Confirmed
- Completed
An incoming caller is a prospective client.
The stages a job moves through
- Inquiry
- Proposal
- Deposit
- Confirmed
- Final details
- Event day
- Paid
The rules that decide what comes first
- Date is not held without a signed deposit

The price list it starts with

- Day of coordination

These are example figures, not our prices. They are what the configuration ships with so the screens are not empty on day one. You set your own.
Questions she is set up to answer
- How far out should I book?
- What's included in day-of coordination?
- Do you require a deposit?
Vocabulary is proposal, deposit, and headcount; a date is not held without a signed deposit.
How you get it: tell us your trade and we set the configuration up with you during onboarding. See every trade's setup questions side by side.
How it differs
Config-backed. There is no state license for the planning activity itself; the licensing here is the alcohol and food path around the event. All classes shown are graded standard with citations.
Florida licensing classes
Planner, coordinator, designer
No state license for the planning activity itself; a local business tax receipt is the whole of it.
No state license (Fla. Stat. Ch. 561-565 governs alcohol)
The venue’s own beverage license
A licensed premises serving alcohol on its own premises. The most common lawful path.
Fla. Stat. Ch. 561-565
13CT catering beverage license
Lets a Ch. 509 caterer that earns most of its revenue from food serve alcohol at a catered event where it also provides the food.
Fla. Stat. 561.20(2)(a)5.
One-, two- or three-day permit
Available to bona fide nonprofits, and certain municipalities, to sell or serve beer, wine, or liquor at an event.
Fla. Stat. 561.422
The dashboard layout is shared across every trade. The build stages, job types, permits, and compliance rules below are generated from this trade's own config pack, so they are specific to Event Services.

Job types
Full planning build
The top product tier: the whole timeline from discovery and budget through teardown, with the planner carrying vendor sourcing, design, the production schedule and day-of management.
Partial planning build
The middle tier, where the client keeps part of the sourcing and design work and the planner carries the rest.
Month-of / day-of coordination build
The lowest tier and the one chronically mis-sold: clients buy day-of and expect full planning, and the day-of client who has been calling for months is a named commercial failure mode.
Venue booking build
A different business shape from the service vendors': the venue sells inventory - dates by spaces - against a fixed asset, and its revenue is minimum-driven. Its own building sits under the Florida Building Code and a local certificate of occupancy.
Catering buildpermit
Menu design and tastings, staffing ratios, service style - plated, buffet, stations, family style - rentals coordination, and the kitchen or the lack of one. Licensed with the Division of Hotels and Restaurants, and the food licence is what the beverage catering licence is bolted to.
Bar service buildpermit
Bar package structure and pour, run behind either the venue's own licence, a caterer's beverage licence with food alongside it, or a nonprofit event permit. The highest-consequence part of the trade.
Production and rentals buildpermit
Tenting, flooring and staging, tables, chairs, linens, china and glass, lighting and power including generators for anything off-grid, AV and sound, climate control, restrooms and dance floor. In Florida, tent air conditioning is not a luxury item for a warm-season event.
Creative build
Floral and decor, photography and video, entertainment, stationery and signage. No state licence for any of it; portfolio is the product, which is why this trade belongs in the platform's tooling at all.
Permits
Permit triggers from the pack. The pack does not name the local permit or its filing window on purpose, so this page does not either. The building department confirms those.
-
Erecting a tent, membrane structure or air-supported structure used for assembly, carnival, religious meeting, civic or sporting event, promotional sale or similar purpose
-
A membrane structure, tent or air-supported structure above the local floor-area threshold. Below that threshold no building permit, but zoning and fire code still apply
-
A public food service establishment or other food vendor participating in a temporary food service event - a carnival, fair or other celebration of short duration where food is prepared, served or sold to the general public and the event is advertised and recognised in the community
-
A bona fide nonprofit organization, or certain municipalities, selling or serving beer, wine or liquor at an event
-
Occupancy, noise and cut-off times, amplified sound, parking and traffic plans, road closures, beach and public-park use, pyrotechnics and sparklers, drone operation, and off-duty law enforcement - all of which routinely appear in a single wedding
Compliance rules
Obligations that fire on a job, from this trade's pack. Items marked as an open question were not fully settled by the research and should be confirmed, not asserted.

Fla. Stat. Ch. 561-565; Fla. Stat. 562.12
-
The mobile-bartending and dry-hire question state
Open question Whether a specific dry-hire structure requires a beverage licence is withheld, deliberately. The confident answers on the open web are stated with far more certainty than the law supports, and the downside is criminal. Defer to the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, and a Florida beverage-law attorney.
Fla. Stat. 562.12
-
The caterer's food-revenue test state
Fla. Stat. 561.20(2)(a)5.

Fla. Stat. 561.20(2)(a)5.

Fla. Stat. 561.422
-
Florida is a narrow dram-shop state state
Open question Insurance requirements, host-liquor endorsements and liquor-liability coverage are withheld, and the scope of negligence theories outside the statutory shield is counsel's question. Defer to a broker for the cover, and counsel for the theories.
Fla. Stat. 768.125
-
Serving a minor is the exception with teeth state
Fla. Stat. 768.125

-
Temporary food service event licensing state
Open question County health department requirements, temporary event permits and food-handler or manager certification requirements are local or category-specific and are withheld. Defer to the county health department and the division.
Fla. Admin. Code R. 61C-1.002; DBPR Guide to Temporary Food Service Events

-
Tent permit and fire marshal inspection state
Open question The floor-area threshold at which a tent picks up a building permit, and how multiple adjacent tents aggregate against it, is withheld. It appears in local guidance, its exact operation varies by jurisdiction, and it must never be quoted as a settled statewide rule. Defer to the local building department and fire marshal.

The local layer is never stated as settled local
Open question Every item in this rule is withheld as a specific requirement. Defer to the city, the county and the fire marshal.
-
Retainer rather than deposit industrytrade convention
Open question Whether a given non-refundable retainer or cancellation charge is enforceable in Florida - the liquidated-damages versus unenforceable-penalty analysis - is withheld. Defer to counsel, and it is worth asking once rather than never.
-
The Florida force-majeure clause industrytrade convention
Open question Event cancellation insurance is separate from liability cover and was not researched. Defer to a broker.
-
Certificates of insurance from every vendor industrytrade convention
Open question Specific limits and requirements are venue-, contract- and carrier-driven and are withheld; no number may be stated. Defer to the venue contract and a broker.
