Auto Detailing & Repair

What the platform does for an auto shop: it keeps the repair order, the estimate, and the invoice in the order the Motor Vehicle Repair Act sets, on one record.

Auto Detailing & Repair has its own configuration.

Stinger is one system, not a different product per trade. What changes is the configuration it runs on: the words on the screen, the columns on the board, the stages a job moves through, and the rules that decide what comes first. This is the Auto repair configuration, as it ships.

The words on the screen

A piece of work is called
Repair order
An incoming call is called
Service bay call
The board is called
Bay board

Job types: Diagnostic, Repair, Maintenance, Inspection.

The columns on your board

  • Check-in
  • Diagnosis
  • Approval
  • In bay
  • Ready

An incoming caller is a walk-in customer.

The stages a job moves through

  1. Captured
  2. Diagnosed
  3. Quoted
  4. Approved
  5. In bay
  6. Completed
  7. Paid

The rules that decide what comes first

  • No repair starts without a signed estimate
  • Diagnostic fee waived if the repair is approved
  • Fleet accounts run net-30

The price list it starts with

Diagnostic
$120
Oil change
$65
Brake service
Estimate
Major repair
Estimate

These are example figures, not our prices. They are what the configuration ships with so the screens are not empty on day one. You set your own.

Questions she is set up to answer

  • What does a diagnostic check?
  • Do you work on fleet vehicles?
  • Is a loaner car available?

Vocabulary is repair order, bay, and tech hours; nothing starts without a signed estimate.

How you get it: tell us your trade and we set the configuration up with you during onboarding. See every trade's setup questions side by side.

Auto is registered with FDACS, not DBPR, and has no license classes in the contracting sense, so this page carries none. The registration fee tiers and any local requirements are withheld in the config as unverified. The compliance sequence in the Motor Vehicle Repair Act is the settled, cited part.

The dashboard layout is shared across every trade. The build stages, job types, permits, and compliance rules below are generated from this trade's own config pack, so they are specific to Auto Detailing & Repair.

Job types

Maintenance wash service

The recurring bottom tier of the detailing ladder, and the retention layer. Sold on a plan to the enthusiast on a routine.

Full detail service

Wash and decontamination, protection, and interior, in one appointment. The second tier the trade actually sells.

Paint correction service

Compounding and polishing in stages - one-step, two-step or multi-stage - to remove swirls, oxidation and light scratches, measured with a paint depth gauge and inspected under dedicated lighting.

Coating package service

Ceramic coating or paint protection film over corrected paint. Priced as product tier plus preparation labour, and preparation is the majority of the cost. New-car coating is the industry's best margin because the paint is perfect and the correction step disappears.

Interior detail service

Extraction, steam, leather cleaning and conditioning, odour and ozone treatment. Often triggered by something disgusting having happened - spilled milk, a pet accident, smoke - which makes it urgent and emotional.

Mechanical maintenance service

Oil, filters, fluids, rotations, brakes, belts and batteries. Interval-driven, so the repeat cycle is predictable in a way detailing's is not.

Diagnostic and repair service

A failure, a noise, a light or a failed inspection brings the car in. Drivability, electrical, suspension and alignment, cooling, exhaust and transmission. The customer is not shopping; they are anxious and time-pressed, and trust is the entire purchase decision.

Motor vehicle air conditioning service service

Evac and recharge, dye test and leak diagnosis on the vehicle's air conditioning. In Florida this is not a comfort item.

ADAS calibration service

Static or dynamic calibration of advanced driver assistance systems after glass, bumper, mirror or alignment work. New enough that most independents are not tracking the statutory notice duty attached to it.

Body and collision repair build

Estimating and supplements, teardown, structural and panel work, refinishing, blending, reassembly and calibration. The buy trigger is a collision, the payer is usually an insurer, and the repeat cycle is rare.

Permits

Permit triggers from the pack. The pack does not name the local permit or its filing window on purpose, so this page does not either. The building department confirms those.

Permit required · NPDES permit under Clean Water Act section 402 · Clean Water Act sec. 402; EPA - Stormwater BMP: Vehicle Maintenance and Washing; EPA - Car Washing

The screens above are the shared dashboard the app renders for every trade. The service, build, and command screens are the same across trades. What changes for this trade is the licensing, compliance, stage sequence, and vocabulary on this page, not the screen layout.

Config-backed for compliance and vocabulary. Auto runs on the shared service and build screens, not a bespoke auto screen set.
